Charmes-Chambertin

VINEYARD

Gevrey-Chambertin is a large town in the Côte de Nuits, with one of the largest vineyards of the Côte d'Or. Its wines are powerful and round, thanks to a good amount of clay marl in the limestone soil. Its AOC vineyards are planted on slopes, located between 240 and 280 m above sea level. The nine Gevrey-Chambertin Grands Crus cover a total surface area of 85.5 ha, with Charmes-Chambertin being its largest at 29 ha.
